Coffee shops to get work done

Constantly searching for a good cup of coffee

Atmosphere: warm, crowded, hipster, calm

Great For:

Square One is filled with people on their laptops getting work done, so feel free to sit down for a couple hours and be productive.

What you need to know:

This is the coffee shop that sparked my love for Philadelphia's coffee scene. It's Pennsylvania based and has an award winning micro-roaster, so you can bet your coffee will be delicious.

Atmosphere: rustic, simple, chic

Great For:

Reading by the window that looks out at 3rd Street or bringing your laptop to study for exams or respond to emails.

What you need to know:

One of the most raved about coffee shops in Philadelphia and for all the right reasons. It's a place that feels like home with exposed brick, wooden floors, a big window, and lots of delicious drink options.

Atmosphere: bright, open, airy, minimalistic

Great For:

Getting work done before/after strolling the Manayunk Canal or grabbing a cup of coffee for the stroll.

What you need to know:

They roast their own beans on-site with a gorgeous coffee roaster from Paris! They're very knowledgable about what makes a good cup of coffee - and tea.

Atmosphere: cozy, like being at home, open, quiet

Great for:

Getting some work done, journalling, reading, or simply enjoying the space. Upstairs is great for being a little more talkative, but they've got a downstairs if you really need some quiet to be productive.

What you need to know:

They have a full menu and all the artwork inside the coffee shop in local. It's also a place that really makes you feel right at home, with a (non-working) fireplace, couches, and window seats.

Atmosphere: vintage, relaxing, open, warm

Great for:

Being productive or grabbing a cup with friends, especially in the warmer months when they open the windows

What you need to know:

Joe, the owner's, specialty is a delicious cappuccino. River Wards is a gorgeous space in Port Richmond with exposed brick that gets a lot of gorgeous natural light.

Atmosphere: busy, upbeat, crowded, positive, rustic

Great for:

Meetings, being productive, reading - all of it

What you need to know:

It's got a lot of space, but it's also a very popular place so be mindful that you might not always have a place to sit, or will have to wait for one. But, it's worth staying in this rustic coffee bar.

Atmosphere: cabin-like, rustic, warm, large

Great for:

Being productive, meeting with friends, brunch, buying new camping gear!

What you need to know:

This is a coffee shop dedicated to sustainability. They've also got a store - in the coffee shop - where you can buy camping gear, clothes, candles, you name it.
