Brunch 🥞🥓

Philly's best brunches, from your favorite brunch babe!

My Story

I've been a brunch enthusiast for years - not just for the food, but for all that comes with it. Brunch has always been about the whole experience for me, not only the food. It combines a relaxed, leisurely vibe with my favorite kinds of gluttonous foods, like eggs benedict and fried chicken.

I'm a lawyer by day, and started my account while I was in law school as a side hobby. With a demanding job, the weekends are often a time for me to unwind and decompress. That's why brunch has always been such a standout for me. My weekend mornings are so often the time I want to reconnect with friends, sit down for a long meal and maybe have a few drinks.

I grew up in the Philly suburbs and have lived in the city for about 7 years now. For me, there's no better place to be. The atmosphere, people and of course, the food, make this city not only the best place to live, but the best place for brunch.

Caitlin's Top Spots

Girard on Girard

What you need to know:

Girard has a bright airy atmosphere and consistently serves up really delicious brunch food. They are a "bruncherie" meaning that brunch is their forte. Plus it's BYOB. I often recommend Girard to people who are looking to brunch with a group on a leisurely Saturday.

Heritage

What you need to know:

Heritage is a bar with an extensive draft list and live music, so I was not expecting to be as blown away as I was when I first tried it. They are dishing out amazing brunch! The space is also great, as it is bright, open and inviting. Get the dutch baby. You will not regret it.

Res Ipsa

What you need to know:

Res Ipsa is not so much a brunch spot as it is a cafe/coffee shop. At night, this place serves incredible Italian food. But by day, it's a cafe that just so happens to make one of the best breakfast sandwiches in the city. The long hot spread adds a bit of heat to an already flavorsome sandwich, and the house made english muffin they put it on is the perfect fluffy texture. When I want a killer breakfast sandwich, this is where I go.

What you need to know:

Three words: crispy pork belly! Such a unique brunch dish, and the flavor was spot-on!

Wm. Mulherins Sons

What you need to know:

This place is a knock-out for any meal, but every item I've ever had on their brunch menu has been outstanding. Last time I went we ordered three entrees for two people and ate it all... #Noregrets.

What you need to know:

I've been recommending this place since I first started PhillyBrunchBabe. They have a bottomless bellini with three different juice options that they bring to your table. And tater tots. Perfection.

Butcher Bar

What you need to know:

Round up all your friends and make a reservation for THE TROUGH. It's actually what it sounds like - a giant smorgasbord of eggs, pancakes, meats, etc. that serves 6-8 people. Reserve in advance!
